2 Months Old

Can you believe it...Braeden is 2 months old.  Although, I cannot say he had a good day.  We went to the doctor today for his first big round of vaccinations.  Poor little guy.  Poor mommy.  I had to make myself laugh to keep myself from crying with him.  I just kept thinking..."better for him to be in pain now than get diptheria, pertussis or whatever else they vaccinated him for."  Overall, it was a good visit.  Braeden weighed 10 lbs 14 oz.  Which puts him in the 30th percentile.  Last time he was only in the 5th.  Our little guy is making a come back.  Dr. Hull was impressed and says that he is developing very well.  Braeden took his shots as well as could be expected.  Although, once we got home and he woke up he was definitely NOT feeling well.  It is the most awful feeling knowing that your child is in pain and there is nothing you can do about it.
Around 10:00 pm, he started feeling better and did really well in his play yard!  He was fascinated for a good 20 minutes!  Happy Birthday Braeden.  Mommy and Daddy love you!

Baby's First Christmas!

Well...Christmas was a blast.  Braeden was loved by all.  He was very busy visiting with all his family members.
We spent Christmas eve with Joe's family in Forney.  Silly mommy forgot to pull out the camera, but did manage to get my cute outfit.  Mommy's Little Joy...so cute!

Christmas morning Bebe, Papa John and Uncle Jagen came over to open presents.  Granny and PaPa came over too.  Braeden got a fun play yard from Bebe and Papa John.  He really likes it.  Mommy even got a special gift from Daddy.  A necklace from Tiffany's!
Later that morning Papa John made his famous "Big Breakfast" which was delicious.  Braeden and Papa John had some good bonding time as our food settled.  Look close...Braeden is smiling!
Then we went to Bebe's for mexican food and bouncing!  Braeden had so much fun with Bebe.

Friday morning we got up early and went to Lake Coleman to visit Grandma and Grandpa Chaney.  They were so excited to meet Braeden.

We had so much fun.  Poor Braeden was so tired by the time we got back he actually slept in his crib!

6 weeks old!

Today Braeden turned 6 weeks old, and he is as cute as ever.  For 4 nights in a row he went down easy and slept in his sleeper, which is much better than sleeping right next to mommy.  Although, lately he has been wide awake and really fussy starting at about 11:oo pm and lasts until around 3:oo am.  We even tried the 2 am car ride which only calmed him down for about 15 minutes.  I guess we are officially going thru cholic.  However, tonight we found something that actually works and calms Braeden down.

Good ol' Dad to the rescue!

Give Thanks for Family

Well, Braeden's first Thanksgiving was amazing.  He got lots of attention from the entire family.  I found myself playing referee to those fighting over who gets to hold him next.  If I weren't breastfeeding I may not have even gotten to hold my own son the entire day.  Poor Joe only got to hold him that morning before we left the house.   I think the most excited to hold him was uncle Jagen.  They got some good bonding time in.  I think Braeden officially became a Longhorn fan.

One thing for sure he got from his mama is his love for naps, and the best day for a nap is Turkey day.

And Baby makes Three

5 months

9 months

October 30, 2008 little Braeden Lucas Parker was born.  After several long weeks on bedrest, he decided enough was enough and it was time to go!  Earlier that morning I had gone to see Dr. Fielder for our last OB check before the big "scheduled" day (Nov. 3).  After calming my fears of the impending day I went home.  A few hours later, around 11:30 am, my back started hurting.  So I laid down.  Well after an hour the pain hadn't gone away, so I called Dr. Fielder and they told me to go to the hospital for monitoring.
I get to the hospital, get hooked up and it was determined that I was in labor.  An hour later, my water broke and then it really started to hurt.  Due to the fact that my labor progressed fairly quickly, I had to wait for my epidural.  After about 2 hours of intense pain, my friend, the anesthesiologist came to give me a gift.  Wow!  I am definitely a fan of epidurals.  Its not like they give you metal for having babies au naturale.  So, once the drugs kicked in the party began.  I think at one time there were 12 people in my room.
Around 9:00pm, I was fully dialated and ready to push.  So the room cleared out and the work began.  After 48 minutes of pushing our little man made it into the world.  It was amazing.

Screaming, kicking and peeing all at the same time, he was perfect!  Daddy did a fantastic job of supporting me through the big pushes and cutting the cord.  After cleaning him off they weighed and measured him, which was challenging because he was so wiggly.  They finally got him to hold still long enough to get 6lbs 7oz and 18inches long.
Everything was perfect.  Braeden was completely healthy!  His lungs were definitely well developed, and his blood sugars were perfect.  So, all the possible complications that could have occurred due to my diabetes never happened.  Praise God!

An Introduction to Us

July 29, 2006 Joe and I became "The Parkers".  We met in dental school.  What was once a simple friendship, became marital bliss.  After graduating dental school, we moved to Kennedale. We have enjoyed our home for a little over a year now.  Since we've been here we have gradually added to our family.  Our first additions were Lexi and Zoe.  Two very curious and amusing kitties.  They have definitely made our household a little more interesting.

Several months later we added another pet, Nyla, a very active and energetic German Shephard.  If we had know what we were getting into at the time, we might have thought twice, but she is now and forevermore a part of our family.  She is a constant challenge, sometimes I find myself wondering if we can treat her "ADHD" with Ritalin or some other sedative.

Soon after Nyla became part of our family we found out that we were expecting.  We were pleasantly surprised and yet, a little worried, as most new parents are.   We expect to see our little man early in November.  We cannot wait to see him.
